SEAT’s hot Leon Cupra has impressed us all with its combination of power and practicality. Now it’s set to be joined by the most powerful estate car in its class, the all-new Leon ST Cupra, due to arrive in Ireland this summer. This 280hp ST Cupra offers a maximum load space of 1,470 litres and yet can accelerate to 100km/h from a standstill in just 6.0 seconds, before going on to a limited top speed of 250 km/h. For Ireland, there will be one model offered, the top-of-the-range 2.0 TSI engine with dual injection and variable camshaft timing, delivering an output of 280 bhp. As with its hatchback sibling, highlights include the DCC dynamic chassis control, the front differential lock, the progressive steering, and the CUPRA Drive Profile. In this mode, throttle response is particularly sensitive, while the DSG operates in its sportiest shifting mode and the sound actuator supports the full tone of the turbocharged engine. DCC dynamic chassis control, progressive steering and the front-axle differential lock also operate at their sportiest settings.
Commenting on the new SEAT Leon ST Cupra, Neil Dalton, Head of Marketing and Product at SEAT Ireland said, “The new Leon ST CUPRA is the perfect complement to our high-performance model line-up. The combination of refined performance and expressive dynamics with relaxed long-distance comfort and compelling utility make it utterly unique,” “The Leon ST CUPRA shows the SEAT brand values at their best. We are proud of the technical excellence and quality it conveys.”
