Volkswagen, official car partner to the 2011 Solheim Cup (23rd – 25th September, Kileen Castle, Co. Meath), is giving golf fans and enthusiasts the opportunity to experience Ireland’s biggest sporting event of the year in style. Ireland’s premium car manufacturer today announced that free car parking will be provided for all Volkswagen drivers throughout the 2011 Solheim Cup.
Parking spaces have been reserved for Volkswagen cars at the 2011 Solheim Cup, allowing drivers to have a hassle-free experience and thoroughly enjoy the event. All drivers have to do is follow the signs for the ‘Volkswagen Blue Motion Car Park,’ signposts, to secure a parking spot close to the golfing action.
In addition, Volkswagen has installed their ‘Blue Motion’ feature garden – created by award-winning landscape architect, Jane McCorkell close to the 18th green. The garden, which featured prominently at this year’s Bloom Festival, has an overall blue theme with water used to create motion in space. The Blue Motion feature will be open throughout the event, giving Solheim Cup spectators the opportunity to view the brand-new Volkswagen Golf Cabriolet and the new Volkswagen Tiguan on display. Information on test-driving these new editions to the Volkswagen range will also be available at the event.
Speaking ahead of the 2011 Solheim Cup, Adam Chamberlain, Head of Sales Marketing at Volkswagen Ireland said: “The 2011 Solheim Cup is, unquestionably, Ireland’s flagship sporting event of the year and Volkswagen is proud to be the official car partner to this prestigious event. The European and US teams will be chauffeur driven in a range of Volkswagen models, whilst spectators will be given the chance to explore the latest Volkswagen Golf Cabriolet and Tiguan in our rela Blue Motion garden feature. We also look forward to welcoming Volkswagen drivers to our VIP car park for what is sure to be a memorable occasion.”
